Good afternoon families!
What an amazing day we had out at the Bar U Ranch today!
We saw lots of fun things and learned a ton of information about life in the Pioneer days as well as life on a ranch.
We began our day with our fun bus ride to the Bar U Ranch. Ask me who I sat with and what we did to keep ourselves busy on the bus!
When we arrived we had a snack and washroom break before splitting up into our groups with our lovely parent volunteers. Ask me who was in my group!
Then we rotated through four different activities including a wagon ride, trail walk, cookhouse tour and round camp/marshmallow roast. Ask me what we did at each of these activities and which one was my favorite and why.
Ask me what I learned about the horses...what kind are they? How much do they weigh? Ask me what a Round Up Camp is? What did we cook there? What is the Belly Up? What is a root cellar? What did I learn while I went on the hike? What was my favourite part and why?
We boarded the bus after thanking our lovely hosts at the Bar U. Ask me who I sat with on the way home.
For tomorrow, we will do a bit of reflection on our field trip and Miss Tennis is going to ask us 3 things we liked about the Bar U Ranch, 2 things we learned from our time at the Bar U Ranch and 1 thing we are still wondering.
I would like to apologize...Miss McNabb and I had set it up so that a class email would go out to you on Sunday night with a reminder about the field trip and with some information. I have heard that it was not received for some reason so I am so sorry for this...I should have put it on the blog as well just in case but I figured that families would be away and would not be checking the blog....hence the email :(
You will have some tired children on your hands tonight...they did amazing today...I was very proud of how well they all behaved!
Have a fantastic evening everyone.
Love,
The grade 2s
