Dear Families,
We had a class vote and we have decided that tomorrow will be our last day for spelling buddies (of course the vote went that way...lol). The students are still able to take words from their writing that they need to work on if they would like to continue working on their spelling at home or they can choose words from books they are reading at home. Thanks to parents for all your support with the spelling program. We have seen a huge improvement in their spelling when the students are writing in class.
We had math message and then literacy centers. After recess and snack we watched a video of monkeys without the sound on. We practiced observing the moving animals and then sketching and writing down our observations and wonders. We are practicing this for our zoo trip as we are each going to be bringing a small sketch book with us. We had a class discussion about the purpose of going to the zoo. Some of us think that when we go to the zoo we should see every single animal. We discussed whether it was better to see a couple animals for a longer time or see all the animals but very quickly. What do I think? Which way would I learn more from?
Guess who came to visit us today?
We continued to work on measuring our different body parts. What did I notice about my partner when we compared our measurements? What did I learn about measuring with a tape measure? How could we check to make sure our measurements were accurate?
After lunch we went to Ms. Tennis's class to learn about the Acadians. What did we do today? At the end of the day we had gym.
