Dear Families
We started our day off with morning meeting. After reviewing today's calendar we practiced creating word problems for subtraction. Ask me to try to create a subtraction word problem for you to solve.
After morning meeting we read our new poem about 3-D shapes. We looked for popcorn words in our poem and illustrated it with 3-D shapes. Ask me some of the names of the 3-D shapes I learned about today.
We had Music, and learned a new song.
Mrs. Caravan's class had gym today and Mrs. Predika's class had Daily Five time. Ask me about what learning choices I made for Daily Five.
In Math we were given a Math problem to solve. This multi-step problem involved thinking about skip counting by 5's and 10's to try to figure out the answer. Ask me what strategies I used to solve the problem.
After lunch we went on a 3-D shape scavenger hunt on the playground. Ask me what 3-D shapes I noticed just outside our school today.
The students sketched the shapes they found and used the correct terms for the shapes they found.
We ended the day by creating a castle which had a variety of different shapes in it.
Have a wonderful evening.
