Please continue to send in 1 litre milk cartons. Scholastic book orders due Friday!
Today:
-we used number lines to find the difference between 2 numbers.
-we were given the next pictures in Hank Finds An Egg. Ask me what I wrote about.
-we were asked "What is Measurement?" We can measure height, weight, length, temperature, time etc. We were asked where we can see or use measurement in Toys R Us. We brainstormed different places that we are familiar with where we can see math. For example, our backyards, the hockey rink and Fish Creek Park. We started a creative journal page, "Where Do I See Measurement In ___________?" and filled in the blank of a familiar place. We began to draw pictures of different ways measurement is used in this place. Ask me what place I chose.
-we silent read.
-we talked about Arctic Animals and the ways that they stay warm in the winter. We talked about fur, blubber and huddling and drew pictures of animals that go with each. We did a "blubber" experiment. I put one hand in a lard filled bag and put it in ice cold water. I put my other hand in with nothing on it. I compared the 2. Ask me which hand was colder.
-we had gym and music.
