ToOur grade 2 sharing assembly is on Friday May 6th at 10:30 am. Parents are welcome to come. Some of the students have special parts in this assembly. We have a couple of mc's who have scripts to practice at home. These scripts should go back and forth from school to home. Some students are doing a pioneer dance. Boys in this dance group will wear dress pants and button up shirt. Girls in this group will wear a long dress. Some students will be doing Acadian spoons. Girls and boys in this group can wear what the pioneer group is wearing. Please do not go out and buy anything. Today we did a lockdown practice. We did great at sitting quietly and calmly. Tomorrow is picture day. There will be individual and class pictures.
Today:
-we worked on the "making 10" strategy in Math message.
-we worked on writing about a special adult in our lives. Ask me who I chose.
-we had gym with Mrs. Byciuk or Ms. Mcnabb. Ask me what I did.
-Mrs. Byciuk's class worked on measurement centers and Ms. Keir's class practiced double digit adding and subtracting.
-we had Social studies all afternoon. Mrs. Byciuk's class was with Ms. Goodwin learning about the Acadians. Ask me what I did. Ms. Keir's class learned about what pioneer children did for fun. They learned a popular barn dance outside and had "watermelon" seed spitting contests. Ask me how far I spit the seed. They worked on a creative journal page about how far they spit the seed (we measured in cm).
