Sorry about missing blog yesterday. We would love to update you with what we have been doing in the last couple of days.
We:
-continued to work with number lines to make addition and subtraction sentences!
-worked on the good copy of our friend writing. Ask me who I wrote about.
-had gym with Ms. Keir.
-worked on double digit addition. Some of us worked on using different strategies to add double digits with Ms. Keir. Some of us worked with Mrs. Byciuk to practice adding with Base 10 Blocks.
Please check out the video below about the progression of addition and subtraction and giving our kids a strong understanding of number:

-had Social Studies. Ms. Keir's group explored the daily life of the Inuit. They learned how to juggle (IT IS HARD). They began to write a journal from the perspective of an Inuit child. Mrs. Byciuk's students had a really fun afternoon. They had a "watermelon seed" spitting contest, just like the pioneers. They measured how far they could spit the seed with a measuring tape. It felt weird to be allowed to spit. Mrs. Byciuk's group went outside and learned more of the barn dance. They tried it with music.
-had some Ketchup time.
-watched the Evergreen Talent show. Ask me what my favorite act was.
-have a new poem to share with you.
