Today:
-we had music
-we found the difference between 2 numbers in math message.
-we continued to work on our predictions on how to make the cork boat float without capsizing.
-in math, we did another measurement centre. We practiced adding and subtracting double digit numbers.
-we talked about the purpose of talk time. Ask me why we do it. We are going to try talk time tomorrow, making sure that we are doing our job.
-we had silent reading.
-we tried out some of our ideas on the cork boat. Some of our ideas worked, but they changed the type of boat and/or shape of the boat. Mrs. Byciuk and Ms. Keir talked to us about adding weight to the bottom of the boat to stabilize it and keep it from capsizing. We added a keel to our boat and it floated upright. We looked at some examples of keels on real boats. We made a creative journal page about what worked and what a keel is.
