Please continue to send in 1 litre milk cartons. Mrs. Byciuk's students are bringing home refrigerator pickles we made today. Ask me why we made pickles. These pickles should be kept in the fridge. They will be ready to eat in approximately 1 week and good for about 3 1/2 weeks. Thank you to Ms. J and our student teacher for helping the students make them. Also a big thanks to Canadian Tire who donated 150 jars for all of our grade 2 students.
Today:
-we worked with number lines in math message to find the difference between 2 numbers.
-we were given the next few pictures of our Hank stories. Ask me what happened.
-we had gym with Mrs. Byciuk or Miss McNabb.
-we read the rest of Math Curse. We imagined ourselves in Toys R Us and asked came up with questions we could ask (addition/subtraction). For example, "How much more money do I need to buy the Lego set I want?"
-we had Social Studies all afternoon. Ms. Keir's group built igloos with marshmallows and worked on a creative journal page about the inside of an igloo. Mrs. Byciuk's group learned about how pioneers were able to preserve their food. Ask me the ways that the pioneers kept their food from going bad. Why did they need to do this? Mrs. Byciuk's group made pickles and worked on a creative journal page about how pioneers kept their food good in the winter.
