Scholastic Book orders due this Friday. Terry Fox run on Thursday at 9:30.
Today:
-we used an abacus in morning math message. We had to figure out how many to add or subtract to get to 10.
-we wrote about our weekends in journal.
-we had gym with Ms. Tennis or Ms. McNabb. Ask me what I did.
-we started a creative journal page about making 10. Ask me how many different ways we can make 10. We had to represent the different ways to make 10 using a number sentence and a picture.
-we earned THREE marbles.
-we had silent reading.
-we talk about inventions and read a Leonardo Da Vinci story. We are going to be coming up with our own invention. Can you help me with this. We made special paper for our invention drawings. We had to crumple paper and use tea bags to make it look old.
-we had to put on our "science" brain to write Leonardo Da Vinci notes beside our artifact sketches. We wrote our wonders, questions, what we knew and what we thought. Mrs. Byciuk told us to put ourselves in Leonardo Da Vinci's shoes. We thought this was funny. We have never heard this expression before.
-read some more of the Land of Stories.
