We are still short of volunteers for our in-school Magnets field trip tomorrow. Please let us know if you can help out from 9-11 am. Volunteers can come to the classroom at 8:50 am.
Canstruction
Evergreen School will be participating once again in the annual Canstruction® event in December for the Calgary Food Bank. A group of grade 4 students has taken on the challenge to think like engineers, designers, architects and builders to create an extraordinary structure all out of cans of food which, after judging, will be then de-canstructed, with all food going to the Calgary Food Bank.
This year’s theme is nature. The grade 4 design team has decided to extend their learning about the regions of Alberta and build a model of the Rocky Mountains. In order to make their vision come true, they are looking for canned and boxed food donations. ·All food donations are gratefully accepted and can be dropped off at the school office anytime next week. Thank you for your support of this project which in turn will go to support needy Calgarians.
Today:
-we did math message. We used an abacus. We added up the 2 numbers on the abacus then had to figure out what we needed to add or subtract to get to 10.
-we finished our ideas for our "Out of the train window I see" art. We took the salt off of our paintings. The salt made it look like there are snowflakes in our picture. We sketched out our good copy and started using the watercolor pencils.
-we had gym with Miss Tennis or Miss McNabb.
-we did "mental math" with Mrs. Rowarth.
-we silent read.
-we laughed at Jingle. He made bananas into Minions. What a silly elf.
-we read some Christmas stories.
