Scholastic book orders due on Friday!
Today:
-we used number lines to make addition and subtraction sentences in math morning message.
-we wrote a descriptive paragraph about an apple using the 5 senses.
-we had gym with Miss Tennis or Ms. Keir.
-we reviewed odd and even numbers. Ask me how I know if a number is odd or even.
-we had Social Studies all afternoon. Today we started with a new teacher. Ms. Keir's class worked with Mrs. Byciuk today. They learned about the pioneers. They learned that many people came from different places in Europe to move to Canada. They were offered 160 acres of land for $10. It took 2 weeks to come across the Atlantic Ocean on a Steamship and then the immigrants had to have their health tested and their papers looked at. They then took a train close to the place they would settle. Ms. Keir's class started to work on a poster. They had to imagine that they were trying to get people to come to Canada to settle. They used notebook to begin to create their advertisement with pictures and words. They had a choice to work alone or with a partner.
Mrs. Byciuk's class went to work with Ms. Goodwin to learned about the Acadians. They watched a video and made a diary. They wrote from a character's point of view. Ask me what I wrote about.
