Today:
-we used number lines to find addition and subtraction sentences.
-Mrs. Byciuk introduced us to a new book called Tuesday. It won the Caldecott award. Ask me what that award is for. The beginning of the story started, "IT WAS TUESDAY EVENING, AROUND EIGHT." We had to write our beginning. We wrote an example as a class and talked about using the senses to describe the first scene. The rest of the book has no words and we are writing words to go with it.
-we played 2 odd/even games. Ask me about them.
-we had "talk time" and silent reading.
-we talked about the mystery bottle experiment we will do tomorrow. We sketched 6 different bottles and had to predict whether they will sink or float with both the cap on and the cap off.
-we had gym and music. Ask me what we did.
