On Thursday October 29, we will be having a Halloween party in the afternoon. Students are welcome to wear their costumes, but please don't bring masks and accessories such as sword. Students are welcome to bring in snacks. Please let us know if you would like to send a snack for our classrooms.
Today:
-we had music.
-we read a story called "My Dog is as Smelly as Dirty Socks". We talked about similes. A simile is a comparison of 2 things using like or as. We came up with similes about ourselves, just like the girl did in the book. For example "Ms. Keir is as flexible as an elastic band". We brainstormed some different adjectives that could describe a person. Can you help me to come up with a few more adjectives that describe me? We are hoping to do an art project just like the art in the book. Ask me about this.
-we silent read.
-Mrs. Byciuk showed our next art project. We are excited. We are making a "Mona _______(my name)". We talked about the background of the Mona Lisa. The background is a real place called Montefeltro valley. We divided our page into 6 parts (all the types of landscapes) with pencil. Ms. Keir showed us how we need to "make bubbles" in the paint to make it not watery. Did you know why Mona Lisa has no eyebrows? Ask me why.
-we had gym with Mrs. Rowarth. We watched a video about Inline skating. We start next week. A notice will come home soon to explain the program.
